APPLICATION
|
The metallic ceramic group of coatings provides superior corrosion and oxidation protection of metallic substrates. The specific coating group CTI applies conforms to military specification, Mil-C-81751B, Ty1, Cl4. Classified as a thin film, it is very ductile, machinable and very attractive in finish appearance, providing a smooth aluminum surface finish. It is cured at 650° +/- 25°F and post treated by burnishing. It can be over coated with a variety of conventional topcoats. |
Used extensively in aerospace and military jet engine and turbine applications as well as other critical airframe components, such as landing gears, fasteners, washers-anything that is exposed to severely corrosive environments. It protects a substrate by acting in a sacrificial fashion. Qualified under specification PWA 830. |
